The so-called “grandmother of Rock” who passed away on 5/24 and was 51 years old at the time, arrived at Hellinikon airport on the afternoon of August 27.

Before her big concert held as part of “The Foreign Affair – Farewell Tour” she had walked around the historic center of Athens and admired the Acropolis, the Herodeum and other sights up close.

“Behind the glory is a lot of work”

Also, Tina Turner then gave a television interview to ERT and Irene Nikolopoulou and was seen declaring about her European tour: “I will not continue to tour like this, such a big production. I have been traveling day and night for six months and I do not intend to continue traveling like this. It was amazing, I had a lot of people! People came and had a lot of fun. If you’re a star, that’s your job, you have to accept it. Behind the glory is a lot of work.”

“I don’t like authoritarian men,” the singer had said at another point in the same interview and had revealed that gardening was her great love.

The concert was late to start because of the crowd

The concert, which was her first and only one in Greece, was scheduled to start at 21:30 but the turnout was so great that the organizers delayed the start by 35 minutes.

“So you want some action?” Tina shouted as she took the stage and the crowd went wild. Opening with Steamy Windows and ending with Be Tender with Me Baby, in a set list of 19 songs that lasted about an hour and a half.
