The Red Hot Chili Peppers have released a new song, dedicated to the late musician Eddie Van Allen. The song titled ‘Eddie’ is included on their upcoming 13th album, ‘Return Of The Dream Canteen».
Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis explains the story behind the song in a press release: “Sometimes we don’t realize how deeply affected and connected we are to artists until the day they die. Eddie Van Aalen was one of a kind.”
“The day after he died Flea (the band’s drummer) came into rehearsal playing bass with a lot of emotion. John, Chad and I started playing together and pretty soon with all our hearts, a song in his honor unfolded effortlessly. It was nice that we were so sad and cared so much about a man who had given so much to our lives.” says Kindis.
