THE Steven Knight has released some interesting information regarding its film adaptation Peaky Blinders. The creator of the successful series had previously stated that the production is being prepared feverishly and it has just become known when exactly the filming will begin.
More specifically, Knight gave a new interview to NME and revealed that the filming of the film they will start in Septemberof course with his big – and Oscar-winning – return Cillian Murphy for the role of Thomas Shelby.
It will be done. It will be this September. Now we are putting the final touches, which will continue until the penultimate day before we go on set. We’ve got everything sorted, we’ve got all the commitments we need, we’re ready to go.
I think the film will take the next step and it will be fantastic to have all Peaky Blinders fans in one place to watch it together. The budget will be bigger and since we know that a chapter is ending, we will try to do our best. Cillian Murphy is all set. So I can’t wait to start filming.
At the moment we do not know the cast of the film, but Cillian Murphy is expected to return as normal for the role of Thomas Shelby. So, it seems that after Oppenheimer tore into theaters, the actor’s next role will be quite familiar.
Also, Knight recently revealed the Peaky Blinders’ “new home” where the movie will be filmed. It is a new, huge and state-of-the-art television and film studio in Birmingham, England. Digbeth Loc, as the studio will be called, was initiated by Knight and is expected to provide more than 700 jobs to the local community.
Let us remind you at this point, that this film is not the only project currently in development, as recently it became known that Netflix is preparing not one, but two new series in this universe.
