Hours after the Screen Actors Guild reached a tentative deal with Hollywood studios to end the actors’ strike after 118 days, Sony is pushing back the release of the new Venom movie to November 8, 2024.

According to Variety, the third Venom film, which is currently untitled, was originally set for July 12, 2024. Kelly Marcel, who wrote and produced the first two films, will direct the new production. The production is also signed by Tom Hardy and Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal and Hutch Parker.

It is recalled that the first two films starring Tom Hardy told the story of journalist Eddie Brock and his alien symbiote and alter-ego, Venom. Both opened in theaters in October, with 2018’s “Venom” grossing $856 million and 2021’s “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” $502 million worldwide.

Sony announced the new film in the series during CinemaCon in 2022 while the new script remains a secret.
