THE Ana De Armas knows rave reviews for her performance as Marilyn Monroe in Netflix’s “Blonde,” but she knows full well that her nude scenes in the movie will be the ones that will cause the biggest conversation on the internet.
As the actress said during her interview with Variety, “I know what’s going to go viral and it’s disgusting.”
“It’s embarrassing to think about. I can’t control it. you can’t really control what they do and how they take things out of context”said the 34-year-old actress about her nude scenes. “I don’t think that possibility gave me second thoughts about the role, but it does leave me with a bad taste when I think about the… future of those stills from the film.”
Based on the bestseller by Joyce Carol Oates, the Blonde boldly reimagines the life of one of Hollywood’s greatest icons, Marilyn Monroe. From her volatile childhood as Norma Jean, her establishment as a celebrity, and her romantic adventures, the film blurs the lines between fact and fiction to explore the ever-growing disconnect between her public image and her true self.
The premiere for the film, which is the first in the history of Netflix to be classified as unsuitable for under 17s, is scheduled for September 28. Written and directed by Andrew Dominick, the film stars Ana de Armas and stars Bobby Cannavale, Adrien Brody, Julian Nicholson, Xavier Samuel and Evan Williams.
