The head of the Athens forensic service Nikos Karakoukis and the medical examiner Nikos Kalogreas, who have drawn up the new forensic report on the deaths of Malena and Iris Daskalaki, testified to the 35th regular investigator.

The two coroners in their report had concluded that the death of the two children was asphyxiation and was not due to pathological causes, which contributed decisively to bringing a new criminal prosecution against Roula Pispirigou for homicide.

Their testimonies were long – about three hours each – and, according to information, they confirmed their scientific conclusions before the investigator.

Among other things, they stated in their conclusion that “the combined exclusion of pathological causes of death leads, according to the methodology of the work, to the violent mechanism of death. Given the exclusion of the effect of a mechanical, electrical or other factor, as well as poisoning, the diagnostic approach is directed to the deprivation (asphyxiation) mechanism of death.”
