For the 46th year, the Greek High School of Patras opens the doors of its welcoming space, so that all of us who love popular Greek culture can gather and “serge” on its paths that only have knowledge and joy to offer, as the relevant announcement states.

The departments that will operate this year are:

-Traditional dances (from all over Greece and Pontus) for children, teenagers, students and adults

-Visual arts for children (from 5 years old).

The commitment and goal of the Greek High School of Patras, since its establishment in 1976, has been the preservation and dissemination of the Greek folk tradition in all its forms.

The main axis of this valuable work is the traditional dance. The multi-member team of teachers of the dance departments aims not only to teach the steps of the dances, but also all the folkloric wealth that hides each of them.

The visual arts department brings students into contact with customs, songs, costumes, objects of our tradition and on this occasion they travel to the knowledge and colorful world of Art.

*Throughout the year, dance seminars, folklore meetings, educational trips, voluntary social awareness actions are organized. Finally, the dance groups participate in National and International Festivals through Cioff (International Cultural Organization – Official Partner of UNESCO).
