The 22-year-old German tourist stayed all night with his legs bent to avoid falling off a cliff

It was an adventurous night for a German tourist, who found himself stranded on a cliff above the beach of Agia Roumeli in Sfakia, Crete.

According to ekriti.gr, the 22-year-old, although in good health, could not leave the steep spot, as a result of which he started calling for help, at approximately 10:00 pm.

Residents and tourists heard him, called the police and the fire department and a large rescue operation began with members of the 3rd EMAK and 8 firefighters.

The young tourist was spotted early on Thursday morning, he was taken to the beach of Agia Roumeli and from there to the port of Sfakia, so that he could be examined at the local clinic.

The 22-year-old was trapped in a very dangerous spot as there was a cliff of about 200 meters below him.

As he was unable to move forward or stand up, in the position where he was trapped, he stayed with bent knees to avoid falling over the cliff.
