The examination of 74 candidate train drivers of Hellenic Train S.A. by the Railway Regulatory Authority begins.
In particular, RAS, as the competent Authority for the preparation and conduct of the examinations for candidate drivers and subsequently the issuance of the European driver’s license, finalized the date of the examinations on August 30, 2022, with the publication of the call for interest by the Central Examinations Committee (K .EE ) to the candidates.
The examinations of the Railway Regulatory Authority for the acquisition of the European driver’s license are carried out by certified examiners of the Authority, with transparent and unalterable procedures. They include two tests: A. The written exam of the theoretical Part and B. The oral exam of the Practical Part (static and ongoing exam).
For the 36 candidates from Northern Greece who completed their education on August 31, 2022, the exams will be held as follows:
Theoretical Part: Monday, September 5, 2022 at the KEK of the OSE at 10:00 am
Practical Part: Tuesday, September 6, 2022 on a route/s starting from S.S. Athens.
For the 38 candidates from Northern Greece, who will complete their training on September 7, 2022, the exams will be held:
Theoretical Part: Monday, September 12 at the KEK of OSE at 12:00 noon
Practical Part: Tuesday, September 13, 2022 on a route/s starting from Thessaloniki Passenger Station (ESTH).
Those successful in the aforementioned examination procedures will receive a certificate of successful examination, in order to then submit to the Railway Regulatory Authority, through the “Driver’s Licences” electronic application, an application and the required supporting documents for the granting of a European driver’s license.
For the start of the examination process, the President of the Railway Regulatory Authority, Mrs. Ioanna Tsiaparikou, said in this regard “RAS hastened to quickly organize the examinations immediately after the completion of the training of the candidate train drivers of Hellenic Train S.A., so as not to waste valuable time for the issuance of a European driving license.
In this way, and of course after the required practical training for the safety certificate is completed, the problem of the lack of train drivers, which aggravates the continuous cancellations of routes that have been taking place, especially in recent months, will soon be resolved.
In any case, the newly qualified staff will obtain a European driving license through an unwavering, strict, high-demand examination process, so that they will then be able to act effectively in emergency or emergency situations, always with the safety of passengers in mind ».
