Just yesterday, the changes to the school units concerning abolitions, demotions and mergers of schools in Achaia were announced.

This resulted, among other things, in the creation of more than a hundred “surplus” teacher positions.

According to the decision published in the Official Gazette in Achaia, the changes concern the following schools:

-The Primary Schools of Elaion of Aegialia and Metochio of Western Achaia are abolished

– The Primary Schools of Skepasto and Vlasia are merged in 3/th Skepasto Primary School, the 8th Primary School and the 9th Primary School “Georgios Glarakis” in 14/TH 8th Primary School of Patras, the Kindergartens of Velitsa and Michoi in 1/TH Velitsa Kindergarten

– Isoma Elementary School is downgraded from 3/th to 2/th, Stavrodriou Elementary School from 5/th to 4/th, Riolou Elementary School from 4/th to 3/th and Koulouras Kindergarten from 3/ i to 2/i.

-Lakkopetra Kindergarten is promoted from 1/th to 2/th, the 3rd Kindergarten of Patras from 2/th to 3/th, the 31st Kindergarten of Patras from 2/th to 3/th and the 70th Kindergarten of Patras from 2/th to 3 /th.

The historical complex “Glarakis”

By decision of the Ministry of Health, after 92 years of common course and history (1930-2022), the operational 7th, 8th and 9th Primary Schools of Patras (Glarakis Complex) were merged into a 14th Primary School under the name Primary School “Georgios Glarakis” (former 8th-9th primary schools of Patras, 1930, F.160, GAK)
