An incredible story was recorded in hospital of Larissaafter a family from Lamia complains that they cannot take their newborn baby, because there are no necessary documents certifying who the real parents are.

The woman who gave birth to the baby at the Lamias hospital contracted the coronavirus, as a result of which she was isolated in the intensive care unit for three days. Thus, the newborn was transferred, as a precaution, to the Larissa hospital and from then Golgotha began as there was no information about the parents of the infant and in all this the mother did not have an identity card.

This last seems to be the reason why the Larissa hospital refuses to give the child to the woman as it cannot verify her details.

The parents spoke to the Star, with the mother saying, “I haven’t held my baby for so many days. He is my first child and I don’t have him by my side at all. I see his things, his pacifier, his clothes, his crib, and I don’t have it next to me».

The father confirms, however, that his wife does not have the necessary certification documents and accepts that for this reason the Larissa hospital refuses to give them the child.

Despite this, the Larissa hospital requested on August 24 by the First Instance Prosecutor’s Office to identify the mother in collaboration with the Police, in order to hand over the child to her.

It is a very delicate issue, we cannot hand over a child to an unidentified person. The woman has no ID or anything” says the legal advisor, Kostas Efthymiou, on behalf of the Larissa University Hospital, while for the father he added that “someone appeared, who is alleged to be the father, but who has no evidence to identify that he is indeed the father of the child in question».
