The Juvenile Delinquency Department of the Juvenile Protection Sub-Directorate of the Attica Security Directorate proceeded to dismantle a gang of minors allegedly involved in drug trafficking, following a major police operation.
In this context, nine members of the gang, including six minors and three youths, were identified and arrested by police officers of the above service.
A case file was filed against them for establishing and participating in a criminal drug trafficking organization and, as the case may be, for violating the legislation on weapons and flares. Furthermore, a 27-year-old man was arrested for violating the legislation on addictive substances.
According to information from police sources, everything started after a complaint made by the parents of an underage girl that their daughter had obtained drugs from the gang in question.
As it emerged from the investigation, the defendants had set up a criminal organization with structured, continuous and methodical action since November 2023 in the trafficking of narcotics and distinct all of its nine members.
The organization in question was active in squares and parks of Psychikos, Papagos and Chalandrio, where minors were supplied with narcotic substances by the gang, since their members had previously arranged a meeting at the above points through phone calls and messages. Also, the members, by staying in the parks and squares, attracted new prospective buyers.
Gang members communicated with each other to determine responsibilities through online chat applications. In their conversations, they addressed each other by nicknames and used special words when referring to the quantities of drugs they traded and the amounts of money.
In the gang’s operational environment, the members received orders and instructions to carry out all stages of trafficking, on “where”, “when” and “to whom” to deliver the substances, from two members (20 years old) who were both chiefly. A 16-year-old member also played a key role, informing the chiefs about the money they got from the sales and about the movements of all the members.
Both from the physical searches of the members of the organization, as well as from the searches of their homes, the following were found and confiscated:
• 183.37 grams. raw cannabis,
• 6 graters,
• scale,
• nylon packaging for drug distribution, suitable for trafficking,
• 2 air pistols with 7 metal packages containing a number of pellets,
• naval flare,
• bayonet,
• 5 folding knives (knife and butterfly)
• Full face hood,
• “business” mobile phones,
• handwritten notes and
• The sums of 12,667 euros and 200 dollars
The narcotic substances found during the body search of the members of the organization were carefully hidden in underwear.
The arrested were taken to the competent Prosecutor.
