--

The custom of ‘Lazarines’ was revived again this year in Rodiani Kozani, in Rodiani Kozani a custom that, according to many, has its roots in ancient Greece. It is a custom from our church tradition since it refers to the event of the resurrection of Lazarus. This custom also heralds the resurrection of nature, the coming of spring as well as the celebration of women’s new life and fertility for this and we notice that only the female gender participates in it.

The characteristics of this custom are the brilliant costumes with the wealth of colors, designs, embroideries, ornaments, and jewels they possess. The combination of the colors of nature with the colors of the clothes, the characteristic voices of the girls-women and the bright faces of all the participants, engrave in your memory hope, life and evolution…

The event was honored with the presence of the Mayor of Kozani, Mr. Yiannis Kokkaliaris, the Deputy Mayor of Elimia Kozani, Zisi Stimoniaris, the Deputy Mayor of Tourism of Kozani, Kyriaki Hatzimanoli, the President of DIPETHE Kozani, Dimitris Mastoras, the PASOK MEP candidate, Olga Markogianaki, as well as the participation of many friends. & fellow villagers.
