A special moment marked the presence of the president of the TEE Giorgos Stassinos in his booth TEE at the “BEYOND 2024” exhibition in Thessaloniki, when he met “Sophia”, the humanoid robot using artificial intelligence.

While the TEE president’s discussion with engineers and journalists was taking place in front of the TEE stand, the robot Sophia “visited” the premises of the Chamber of Engineers and “had a chat” with the President of the TEE. The robot “Sophia” replied to Giorgos Stasinos that he knows the role and work of TEE, about which he commented: “Technical Chamber of Greece, what a place for the minds that embrace the technical field”. And he added that the TEE is the technical advisor of the Greek government and that it is the specialist body for all matters of engineers and architects. “And its members are so experienced and insightful,” he commented.

Earlier, TEE president Giorgos Stasinos emphasized that Engineers are pioneers in technology issues, in his placement in the context of the international exhibition of digital technology and innovation “BEYOND 2024” in Thessaloniki, in the context of a discussion on the challenges of artificial intelligence in our country.

According to Giorgos Stasinos “the Artificial Intelligence it is of great concern to the TEE because it is of great concern to our members”. “Engineers are pioneers in the matter of technology” the TEE president emphasized and added that “Artificial Intelligence gives more possibilities and Engineers have learned to adapt very quickly and can take advantage of any form of AI”.

Commenting on the reservations expressed regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence, he estimated that “we should be less afraid and more optimistic. We have to think about how we can take the positives and deal with the problems that exist in time.” He noted, in fact, that Greece has the scientific staff that can deal with Artificial Intelligence and chart paths, expressing the certainty that “businesses can be developed here too”. According to Giorgos Stasinos in Greece “there are many individual efforts by the government and the private sector, we need someone to coordinate them”.

Artificial Intelligence will be used in building and infrastructure issues as well as in the intruder detection system

Giorgos Stasinos referred to the utilization of Artificial Intelligence in matters of building, infrastructure, investments through the use of data from the new information systems developed by TEE. A typical example of the direct use of Artificial Intelligence is the system for detecting arbitrary acts which is voted in the Parliament, in order, as Giorgos Stasinos said, “to detect live, while it is happening, an arbitrary act”.
