Representing eight different travel agencies in their country, Georgians stayed in the city of Thessaloniki for five twenty-four hours

The Georgian agents “vote” for Greece and specifically for Thessaloniki. By joint venture Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, EOT and Aegean implemented in the city the Fam Trip of eight travel agents from Agriculture.

Representing eight different travel agencies in their country, they remained in the city for five twenty-four hours for the purpose of promoting the Thessaloniki to its interested audience Georgia.

Reason for its organization Fam Trip is the start of direct Aegean flights to Agriculture from next June. According to the Tourism Organization Thessaloniki, this move aims to reposition Thessaloniki as a travel destination on the tourism map of Georgia which already has a strong potential of visitors choosing the city.

Several travel agents have already built friendly and professional ties with tourism operators in Thessaloniki and are well aware of its tourist product, which proves that the new venture rests on solid foundations.

The first day of their trip started with a tour of the airport “Macedonia” with representatives of Fraport and AEGEAN. Georgian visitors had the opportunity to tour all areas of the airport, including the new T2 level.

THE Thessaloniki, already known as “capital of gastronomy” to many of the travel agents she compensated her Georgian visitors to the maximum extent. The less popular seafood and Lenten dishes in their country were the ones they enjoyed the most and stole the show.

OTTH did not fail to include several walking tours in the city with historical, cultural and commercial interest in the day’s program. Starting from the center of Thessaloniki to the neighborhoods of the Upper Town, the tour operators had the opportunity to tour the majority of the monuments and sites of Thessaloniki. But there was no shortage of trips to the large traditional markets of the city, Kapani and Modiano.

In order to communicate all the possibilities of the city to the Georgian travel agents, the OTTH decided to hold a fashion walking tour in the central shopping streets of the city in order to bring the group closer to the local market, even getting to know several local brands.
