After several hours, the hostage situation of the rector of the University of Patras, Christos Bouras, who was trapped in his office since noon, ended.
According to information, at around 19:30 on Friday the incident ended. Earlier, students, as part of their protest, trapped the dean in his office, while… they also guarded his car so that he would not be able to leave the university.
According to pelop.gr, the protest took place because four students are not allowed to take the exams in June.
Media in Patras wrote that the rector was locked in the office since 12 noon, while Mr. Bouras himself wrote in a post earlier:
“For 4 hours now, the Rector of the University of Patras has been trapped in his office and his car is being guarded so that he does not use it to escape. I want to state unequivocally that I am not afraid of anything and I will not leave the University».
