“If our proposal is approved, the Municipality of Tripoli will save 350,000-400,000 euros a year from electricity…”, stated the Mayor, among other things.
The Mayor of Tripoli, Mr. Kostas Tzioumis, spoke on the Municipal Radio of Tripoli and the program “Epi tis oussias” on the occasion of the Municipal Council meeting on the energy community.
Initially, Mr. Tzoumis said: “The Municipality of Tripoli recommended an energy community, with five members. There is no private person inside”, while he added: “We did not rent plots on our own plots – if our proposal is approved – we will put a photovoltaic park. The construction cost of the park will be 3,000,000 euros. Of these, the Municipality will need to put in approximately 500,000 euros, the other 2,500,000 euros will be taken free of charge from the program. These parks will save the Municipality approximately 350,000-400,000 per year in electricity. In a year and a half we will have amortization of the investment we will make”.
Then Mr. Tzoumis: “We are ready to submit our proposal, but probably other municipalities are not ready and an extension will be given.”
Finally, the Mayor said: “The financial department of the Municipality has prepared exactly where this money (the 500,000 euros) will be paid from.” Let’s hope that our proposal will be approved”.
