Deputy Mayor of Tourism and Sports Giorgos Lazaridis had a meeting with the president of Kalamata Municipal Bus Service, Thanasis Patikopoulos, regarding the best planning of the Municipal bus routes in view of the summer season. Already as pointed out by the president of Astikos KTEL, after Easter the routes serving the area of Mikri Mantineia will be increased by one hour. In addition, the itineraries to the West beach and the Kordias area will be strengthened, as it has been found that there is increased traffic in the area and there is a need to serve residents and visitors to this coastal area of our Municipality.

It is noted that many people choose Kordias beach to enjoy their swim, as it now has a seatrac to facilitate people with mobility problems to access the sea.

Finally, the strengthening of accessibility for the disabled at the City Bus stops, with special ramps, was discussed, as well as ensuring unhindered access to them, so that the service of the public is not hindered by illegally parked vehicles.

The good cooperation that exists for flexibility in the itineraries and targeted support where needed was confirmed, and other meetings will follow with the aim of always providing better service to the residents and visitors of Kalamata.
