“Four workers from Yemen” were killed today by a strike unmanned aircraft which targeted its Khor Mor gas field Kurdistan in the north Iraqannounced the representative of the autonomous region’s government, Peshwa Houramani.
“Four Yemeni workers were killed and significant damage occurred at the field, which will lead to power shortages,” the official said in a statement.
“These repeated attacks must stop,” he said, calling on Iraqi federal authorities “to find the perpetrators of this terrorist act and bring them to justice.”
The president of Iraqi Kurdistan, Nechirvan Barzani, said that “these attacks endanger the peace and stability of the country”.
“Stakeholders within the federal government must do their part to prevent these attacks and find the perpetrators,” he stressed.
In the past, Kurdish politicians have denounced sporadic attacks targeting the Hor Mor field, suggesting that armed pro-Iranian factions are behind them.
