Temperatures will range from 23-25 degrees Celsius, which is normal for the season, but the winds have shifted to the north since yesterday, because the atmosphere has completely cleared of African dust, and on Tuesday the temperature will reach 9 Beaufort . The north winds will appear in the Aegean and there is even a chance to create some minor problems in ship routes. In the Ionian, things will be milder. However, we will see this in the coming days.”
Mrs. Rigou also referred to its course and to the small changes that will occur in the weather until Easter Sunday, specifically Holy Saturday, when there will be showers that will last a while.
“From Holy Wednesday the winds will drop, but will again be strong at 7 Beaufort. In general, the entire Holy Week will pass with clear weather. The ups and downs of the weather will be small. For example, in the Ionian Sea the temperature will reach 28 degrees, but then it will drop one or two degrees.
“The most important thing is that the first exit of the excursions will take place with strong northerlies, which possibly on Maundy Tuesday may create problems for the itineraries of the ships, we may also have a sailing ban. More in the Cyclades”.
“From Maundy Thursday, the winds weaken, so the temperature starts to rise, one or two degrees.
“Maundy Thursday and Good Friday looks like we’ll have an ‘episode’ of African dust, not as big as we’ve had in the past few days.”
“The picture we have for Good Friday and Holy Saturday is that we will have an atmospheric instability, that is, we will have these spring showers during the warm hours of the day.”
“These showers will appear in the western and northern mountains. But it is possible that on Holy Saturday this instability will become general. There is a scenario that shows us that in Northern Greece, mainly in Thrace – Northern Aegean, we will have rains and storms. On Easter Sunday, a first estimate we have now is that the weather will improve, we will have sun and temperatures up to 28 degrees. This will also last the week after Easter.”

Today, Friday (26/4), the departure of the first excursions for the Easter holiday – including many tourists – with ships leaving Piraeus almost full ahead of Holy Week.
According to information, 44 ships for the islands are expected to depart from the port of Piraeus today Friday: 19 for the Cyclades, Aegean islands and Crete, while 25 for the Argosaronic islands.
