The regional governor of Crete, Stavros Arnautakis, attended the opening of the exhibitions held in parallel with the robotics olympiad.

The exhibitions concern local rural development programs, cottage industry and innovation businesses and are held on the sidelines of the Third World Robotics Olympiad which started tonight in Heraklion and is an international event with the support of the Crete region.

“We have an important combination. A robotics olympiad, a big event and at the same time the important work carried out by the development companies through the leader programs as well as through the efforts they make to make large investments in the hinterland. I want to congratulate all the contributors, the development companies of all Crete, I feel proud of her and as a pioneer of the development of Heraklion.

In 1991, when we started, no one could have imagined that there would be this great conquest in terms of financial tools and the resulting development”, said Stavros Arnautakis while he thanked the Ministry of Rural Development and Food for the funding and contribution to the organization and he wished good success both in the parallel events and in the competitions of the robotic olympiad.

In his short greeting, the Regional Governor of Crete emphasized, among other things, that the Region of Crete will continue to support young people, local businesses, research structures, opening new paths.

“We continue on this path, building the Crete of 2030. A modern, smart, green and human Region, the friendliest Region for entrepreneurship and investment. The Region that is reliable, fast, efficient. On these axes, we continue the cooperation we have developed and move forward”, he emphasized.
