“We are writing History, changing the world – Our future is socialism!”: That’s his motto 50th KNE Festival – “Guide”, which begins its journey across the country, with its events culminating in 18, 19, 20 and 21 September in Athens, in the area of the “Antonis Tritsis” Environmental Awareness Park.
This year, due to its 50th anniversary, the KNE and “Odegitis” Festival will stop at all the places in Attica where it passed through in all the previous years.
The first stop of the 50th Festival is Caesariani her Sunday, April 28, in the shooting range, where this year marks the 80th anniversary of the execution of 200 communists on May Day 1944.
At 8 p.m. will speak Thodoris Chionis, member of the PG of the Central Committee of the KKE and Secretary of the Attica Party Organization.
Will follow big concert – a tribute to Christos Leontis with subject “Now this road is yours…” inspired by the work of G. Ritsos “Smoky Tsoukali”, composed by Chr. Leontis.
The program of the concert
In the 1st part of the concert, “Katachnia”, the first complete work of Chr. Leontis, in lyrics by Kostas Virvos, which has as its theme the triptych “Occupation – Resistance – Liberation”.
In the 2nd part of the concert, selections from Chr.’s favorite songs will be presented. Leonti from “Smoky Tzoukali”, “Ah Erota” and “Erotas Archangelos”, “Performances” etc. that marked his 60-year journey.
The tribute and the orchestra will be conducted by Chr. Leontis. Narration in the 1st part, where “Katachnia” will be presented, will be done by the actor Haris Mavroudis. They will sing (in alphabetical order) Miltos Paschalidis, Angeliki Toupanaki, Costas Triantafyllidis and Ioanna Forti.
From the 5.30 p.m. it will operate Student Residence, where visitors will be able to purchase the edition of the Student Committee of the CS of KNE “What university do we need today?” as well as the Decision of the SC of KNE on the student mobilizations against the bill for private universities that has been published in “Odegitis”. Steki will be framed by a tableau for these large student mobilizations and for the upcoming student elections.

It will still be available at the Festival site exhibition dedicated to May Day 1944 and the execution of 200 communists in Kaisariani.
At the same time, there will be a rich program of activities for children of all ages. This includes guided tours of the Altar and the EAM National Resistance Museum for the friends of the “red balloon” (at 6 pm and 7 pm) and an activity corner for the 200 people of Kaisariani. There will also be an activity corner for the 50th anniversary of the Festival, where children will create designs inspired by its logo and its history. For the younger children, there will be art workshops and sports activities, games with natural materials, constructions with colors and clay, an interactive show with soap bubbles, as well as aerial yoga.
On April 30 screening of the movie “The Last Note”
After two days the KNE will return to the historical site of the Shooting Range, where the The Organizing Committee, on the eve of May Day, on April 30, will screen the film “The Last Note”, seeking, in the face of the world of cynicism, brutality, rot and brutality, to project the world of solidarity, morals, honesty, dignity and deep humanity that Pantelis Voulgaris’s film brings to the eyes of the viewers.
