“TOGETHER FOR THE MAN” LINE-UP PRESS RELEASE
A due and cool answer to Mr. Sousoudis.
The following announcement was issued by the municipal party TOGETHER FOR THE MAN:
“Mr. Sousoudis, with the announcement he issued, proves four things:
1st) His intolerance of criticism. He cannot stand the different and informed opinion.
2nd) The ease that characterizes him, when he has no answers, to muddy the waters, to tell half-truths and to distort.
3rd) His obsession with behaviors and practices of the period 2014-2019. He returns to them and in this period he wants to return to Andros.
4th) His difficulty in distinguishing the differences between direct assignment and tendering. Dimitris Lotsaris held a tender for cleaning, Mr. Sousoudis did not.
From then on, we will repeat to him that the municipal authority of Dimitris Lotsaris did not use a single euro from the resources of 2024 for cleanliness. Such a thing would be unethical since from January 1 there is a new municipal authority. Mr. Sousoudis has approved the Municipality’s budget since February. Since then he had to run the procedures for a new tender, why he did not tender he should explain to the citizens. Someone should also tell him that when a tender is held, you do not choose the contractor, but the contractor is chosen based on the offer he submits and the objective data. On the contrary, when you do not tender and choose another process, then you choose a contractor. Everyone understands that.
The contract states that the total duration of the contract MAY be extended so it is not something mandatory, but instead of a tender he chose to extend the duration of the contract by directly assigning the best man. As for the hollow threats he spews, they don’t touch us.
The current Mayor must realize that he will be judged on the field in terms of cleanliness. With his choices and his refusal to accept our constructive suggestions, he assumes great responsibilities. If Andros is led to a dead end, starting this summer already, it will not be the fault of the previous municipal authority but himself.”
