Felony charges were brought against the two men who shot and killed a dog in an area of Thessaloniki.

The prosecutor brought criminal prosecution against the two men who were arrested for shooting and killing a dog in the municipality of Thermi in Thessaloniki.

They are a 47-year-old union farmer and his 44-year-old friend, who are being prosecuted, on a case-by-case basis, for killing a companion animal and moral turpitude in that act, as well as gun law violations.

As stated in the case file, the 44-year-old, acting on the orders of the 47-year-old, executed the dog with a shotgun, because – according to what the latter testified to the police – the quadruped entered his stable and was aggressive with his animals. According to information, the unfortunate dog was owned by another breeder in the area.

The two men were referred to apologize to an investigator tomorrow and until then they remain in custody. In addition to the case filed against them, those arrested were imposed the prescribed administrative fines.
