The celebrations for “Diakeia 2024” in Lamia have been completed.

With the laying of wreaths at the statue of Athanasios Diakos in the square that bears the name of the hero of the Greek Revolution in Lamia, the celebration events for “DIAKIA 2024”, commemorating the battle of Alamana and his martyrdom, were completed on the morning of Wednesday, April 24 .

It was preceded by a Holy Memorial Mass in the First Metropolitan Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos Lamia, by the Ecumenical Archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne, Fr.

His Eminence also performed the memorial prayer at the Cenotaph of the hero on the pedestrian street of Kalyva – Bakoyannis, but also at his statue in the square.

A Minute’s Silence was observed and the ceremony ended with the singing of our National Anthem.

The event was honored with their presence by the deputy governor of Fokidos, Mr. Delmouzos Georgios, the vice president of our community, Mr. Raptis Dimitris, the members of the Athanasiou Diakou Brotherhood, Ms. Vivi Dimopoulou and Ms. Konstantina Balaska.
