Extensive police operation to tackle crime in the Peloponnese Region
-40- people were arrested, -62- were brought in and -1,164- were checked

In addition, checks were carried out on -849- vehicles, while a total of -375- violations were confirmed

Seized, among other things, quantities of cannabis and drug tablets

Police checks are aimed at preventing and suppressing crime, but also at strengthening citizens’ sense of security

In the context of dealing with crime, as well as creating safe living conditions for citizens, an extensive police operation took place yesterday (25.4.2024) in the Peloponnese Region.
The operation was organized and implemented by the Police Directorates of Argolis, Arcadia, Corinthia, Laconia and Messinia, according to the operational plan of the General Regional Police Directorate of Peloponnese.

During the operation, checks were carried out on -1,164- people, of which -972- were nationals and -192- were foreigners, as well as -849- vehicles.
In addition, -62- people were brought in, of which -49- were nationals and -13- were foreigners, while -40- people were arrested.

In more detail, they were arrested:
in Argolis:

Two (2) foreigners, who resided illegally in the country and the administrative procedure for their return will be initiated against them.

in Arcadia:
Two (2) citizens, for drugs, of which one is also accused of violating the weapons legislation.
One (1) citizen, for theft.
One (1) citizen, for theft of electricity.
One (1) citizen, for a conviction document.
One (1) citizen, for dangerous driving.
One (1) citizen, for violating the Road Traffic Code.

in Corinth:
One (1) citizen, for drugs.
One (1) citizen, for violation of the Customs Code.
Two (2) nationals, for neglecting the supervision of a minor.
Four (4) citizens, for violations of the Road Traffic Code.

in Laconia:
Three (3) citizens, for drugs.
Four (4) nationals and one (1) foreigner, for his violations

Road Traffic Code.
Three (3) foreigners, who resided illegally in the country and the administrative procedure for their return will be initiated against them.

in Messinia:
Four (4) citizens, for drugs.
Three (3) citizens, for deprivation of an identity card.

Two (2) citizens, for neglecting the supervision of a minor.
Three (3) citizens, for violations of the Road Traffic Code.

Solved:
from the Kalamata Security Sub-Directorate, -1- a case of theft on a farm, which took place on 23.4.2024, in a local community of the Municipality of Kalamata. For this case, a case file was filed against a 33-year-old citizen, for theft, while items were taken
found and returned to their owner.

During the operation, a total of -375- violations of the Road Traffic Code were confirmed, while the following were confiscated:
knife, with a blade length of -9- centimeters, small amounts of cannabis and heroin, in Arcadia,
quantity of cannabis, total weight -5.3- grams and -1- pack of cigarettes, which did not have the indicative consumption tax strip, in

Corinthia,
small quantities of cannabis and -46- drug tablets, in Laconia,
quantities of cannabis, total weight -54.5- grams, in

Messinia.
Those arrested will be taken to the competent local Prosecutors.
These actions are targeted and aim both at preventing and suppressing crime, as well as at strengthening citizens’ sense of security, while they will continue with undiminished intensity and interest, in all regions of the Peloponnese Region.
