Positively the Regional Environment Committee of the Peloponnese Region issued an opinion on the issue of the strategic environmental impact study of special urban planat the core of its delignitization zone Megalopolis.
Earlier, it had been pre-approved special urban planner of the de-lignitization zone of Megalopolis, by the Ministry of Environment and Energy.
The above issues are extremely important, since they lead, gradually, to the possibility of demarcation and licensing of the business park of the post-lignite Megalopolis.
The Committee also gave opinions on other important issues, specifically on environmental impact studies for the installation of RES, where they are dealt with on a case-by-case basis, always taking into account the clear need to develop Renewable Energy Sources, with the also undeniable need to protect the natural environment.
In the intervention area, the following general land uses or special regimes are defined:
Agricultural use
Conservation of habitats and species
Public Utility Urban Infrastructure Facilities
Special uses
High-noise production activities
Production activities of low and medium disturbance
Tourism-Leisure
