“Special mission” Dendias to K. Macedonia for the European elections: I understand the difficulties, we will succeed

Defense Minister Nikos Dendias arrived in the “difficult” region of Central Macedonia for the ND, as part of the “special missions” that Kyriakos Mitsotakis has assigned to top ministers ahead of the June 9 European elections.

As reflected in the opinion polls, the ND in northern Greece is facing pressure and the goal is to restore the climate. For this purpose, the party apparatus and leading ministers have been mobilized. For Central Macedonia, the coordinator is Defense Minister Nikos Dendias.

Mr. Dendias met with the regional governor of K. Macedonia Apostolos Tzitzikostas and immediately afterwards he stated:

“As the Coordinator of the pre-election campaign of New Democracy in the Region of Central Macedonia for the European elections, I am aware of any difficulties we are facing.

But I also know that here is the historical cradle of our party. Konstantinos Karamanlis comes from the Region of Central Macedonia. Here historically we have been able to have an open communication with the voters of this District, and I want us to restore that good communication.

With the help of Apostle Tzizikostas, I am optimistic that we can succeed. In the coming weeks we will make that effort and explain the stakes.

Populism must be tackled, Euroscepticism must be tackled. We will all succeed together.”

Afterwards, Mr. Dendias visited the Metropolitan Philotheos of Thessaloniki.

It is recalled that at a meeting of the ND Electoral Campaign Committee, first-class ministers were assigned to take over from one region.

Brostaris, Kyriakos Mitsotakis himself who has started a dense tour program to visit all regions of the country until the European elections. Ministers and MPs of the party will also take to the streets to rally the base of the ND and the voters who supported it in the previous contests.
