May Day: 24-hour strike on M. Wednesday, even though the holiday has been moved -Which MMMs will be immobilized

GSEE and ADEDY announced a 24-hour strike on Wednesday 1/5 (May Day), although the holiday has been moved to next week.

“For the unions, May Day is a strike day and not a deferred holiday. GSEE does not “demand” from the respective Governments to declare the 1st of MAH as a holiday, and in fact transferred and circulated” they state in their announcement, and they call all workers, pensioners, the unemployed, to the 24-hour General Strike for Labor Day , on Wednesday May 1st, and at the Trade Unions Meeting, at 11.00 in the morning, in Klathmonos Square and at the Meeting Rooms of the Labor Centers.

It is reminded that the mandatory May Day holiday has been moved to Easter Tuesday 7/5.

ADEDY, for its part, “calls on public sector workers to vigorously participate in the strike and in the strike gatherings that will take place on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, throughout the country. The strike gathering of A.D.E.D.Y. in Athens it will take place at 11:00 am, in Korai Square”.
