On June 19, the members of parliament who were elected with the “Spartiats” party, as well as Ilias Kasidiaris, imprisoned for the Golden Dawn case, will sit on the bench of the criminal court, in order to be tried for the crime of voter fraud.
Their referral to trial was decided after the order of the Supreme Court prosecutor, Georgia Adelini, for criminal prosecution against them for the offense of defrauding the electoral body. The prosecutions against 13 people in total were carried out after the completion of the investigation carried out by the prosecutor of the Supreme Court regarding the complaints made by the president of the “Spartans” Vassilis Stigas from the floor of the Parliament. In his reports, Mr. Stigas spoke of “Greek mafia” and blackmail in his party, “photographing” Ilias Kasidiaris.
In more detail, the accusation of cheating the electorate refers to 11 MPs while Ilias Kasidiaris is being prosecuted as the moral perpetrator of the above crime, that is to say in cheating voters. A lawyer is also accused of complicity in the crime of deception, who on the night of last June’s elections made available his office from where the solemn statements of the “Spartans” were made.
According to information, from the investigation carried out by Mrs. Adelini, it emerged that Ilias Kasidiaris was in fact the real leader of the “Spartians” and had constant contacts from prison with candidate MPs of the above party and that he had taken over the guidance and their political support, which is prohibited by law.
