The MP of the New Left asked the Minister of Foreign Affairs “if he considers that it is for the good of our country the double policy of Mrs. Bakoyannis’ proposal and its approval by the European Parliament without fulfilling the conditions of the Brussels International Agreement”.

What each MP did is a matter of parliamentary independence. But Greece is expressed by its government“, emphasized the Minister of Foreign Affairs, pointing out that “for Kosovo, our position is clear and clean” and that “we said that Kosovo cannot join international organizations”.

The Greek government is not going to agree to the integration of Kosovo“, he repeated, while regarding the reactions caused in Cyprus by Dora Bakoyannis’ stance on the Kosovo issue, the Foreign Minister stated that “we are in constant consultation with Cyprus on all issues and we have had significant successes such as the inclusion in the conclusions of the European Council”.

“Beleris is a party issue and not a government issue”

Mrs. Anagnostopoulou also touched on the participation of Beleris in the blue European ballot, noting that the prevailing feeling about the decision is “how the government is hostage to the extreme right». Afterwards, the MP of the New Left asked the Minister of Foreign Affairs “if he considers the inclusion of Beleris “with the known past” a success, at a time when “all issues with Albania, such as the EEZ, are open”.

“The question of the candidacy of Mr. Beleris concerns the party and not the government. It is the right of every party to have the candidates it wants“, answered Mr. Gerapetritis who now spoke about a European issue, noting that “in matters of Rule of Law, the government does not make discounts and when the time comes, Greece will have a very strong reason for Albania’s accession process”.

Regarding the Prespa Agreement and Ms. Anagnostopoulou’s accusations that “it is up in the air as the government has not done anything for the last 5 years”, the Foreign Minister stated that “we accept the agreement”, assuring that “we will closely monitor the its evolution”.

“In order for the protocols to be ratified, there must be full compliance with the requirements of the agreement,” he concluded on the issue.
