Opening of the exhibition “Findings & Rediscoveries” at the Foundation of Tinian Culture

--

On April 24, the opening of the “Findings & Rediscoveries” exhibition took place at the Foundation of Tinian Culture. With great sensitivity and respect, 26 artists of the Association of Visual Arts Artists of Tinos, as well as invited artists, are inspired by the Holy Place of Tinos, on the occasion of the 201st anniversary of the finding of the miraculous icon of Megalochari.

The subject is approached from a visual perspective both through time and contemporary. This is a condition that includes works of Sculpture, Work Shop Engraving, Painting, Photography, Installation, New Media, Video Art.

The purpose of the action goes beyond the narrow framework of an anniversary exhibition, aiming at highlighting local and visiting artists and offering them the opportunity to redefine the event, history and customs surrounding the find themselves.

Hence the choice of the title of the exhibition “Findings and Rediscoveries” curated by Mr. N. P. Paisios.
