The program of events prepared by the municipality of Tripoli for Easter was presented by the deputy mayor for Culture Mrs. Eleni Karuntzou in her statements on Friday, April 26.

Easter in Tripoli is traditionally celebrated with special splendor, as, apart from the residents of our city who love this holiday especially and who welcome their relatives and friends to this great religious holiday, visitors from all over the country gather in our city.

As Mrs. Karountzou mentioned, travel agencies have already shown their interest in organizing one-day trips to Tripoli.

In addition to the program of events, the deputy mayor spoke about the decoration of the city, which will be different from last year.

The biggest burden has fallen on decorating Areos square and the constructions have already been put in place and the spits have been set up.

Photos of old Tripoli have also been placed, with the theme of Easter and the traditional celebration. The material for the photographs was offered to the municipality by citizens from the area of ​​Sehi where Easter Sunday was celebrated with splendor, as well as Mr. Peteros.

“Requiem”

The Orpheus Choir of Tripoli performs the Requiem by the French composer of the late romantic era, Gabriel Urbain Faure (1845-1924). The work is characterized by its melodiousness and calm overwhelming character, accompanied by a small symphonic orchestra. Soprano Yelena Yovanovits Bakopoulou and baritone Vassilis Kostopoulos Denachis participate. Music direction and teaching: Christina Athanassopoulou.
