Larissa: A 6.8 magnitude earthquake “hit” Mylos Pappa

Men from the Larissa Fire Service, the 8th EMAK, EKAV ambulances, the Police, officers of the Civil Protection of the municipality of Larisa and the involved departments together with people from the “Red Cross” participated in the preparedness exercise, which was also attended by the mayor of Larisa and . Mamakos together with the competent deputy mayors of the municipality.

The scenario of the exercise provided for the release of the injured from the second floor of the building, the assistance of a specially trained EMAK dog to locate the trapped, as well as the creation of a temporary point where first aid was provided to the injured in the courtyard of Mylos tou Pappa.

In statements by mayor of Larissa, Mr. Than. Mamakos, who attended the exercise expressed his satisfaction with the participation of all parties involved and stated that such exercises are always useful to maintain a degree of preparedness throughout the disaster response mechanism.
