Moderate optimism prevails in the official opposition, since SYRIZA hopes that the June 9 elections will be the beginning of the reversal of the political scene.

“It is different for our political future on the night of the European elections to have a 15-16 point difference with the ND and different to have 8-9” says a leading member of Koumundourou to documentonews.gr, stressing that a “clear message must be given to world” that there is an alternative progressive proposal with dynamic…

“I see a current in society, I see a lot of people who have regretted the last elections. There is a very good chance that we will exceed 20%. The arrogance in the glass tower they are in must stop,” emphasized Stefanos Kasselakis in his recent interview with OREN.

The secret measurements may not confirm this positive climate, but in SYRIZA they are betting on polarization, on the fresh faces of the European ballot, on the openness of Stefanos Kasselakis to members of the public who have traditionally either not been involved in politics, or are far from SYRIZA and of course in governmental attrition.

“The fact that Mr. Mitsotakis hastened to lower the bar himself to the 33% that the ND got in the 2019 European elections, is highly indicative of the vertigo he has fallen into” they said yesterday from Koumoundourou and emphasized that “the publication of Financial Times, analyzes that Greece will soon become the poorest country in Europe”.

Of course, it remains to be seen if this optimism will be reflected in the polls…

The decibels are rising

As time passes, the political antagonism will intensify. SYRIZA strongly criticized the ND, on the occasion of Theodorikakos’ statements that the voters of the Spartans are welcome and on the basis of the prime minister’s half-words in his yesterday’s interview with SKAI on this specific issue.

“The ND of Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the extreme right are communicating vessels. There, after all, the gross violations of the rule of law for which the State Department, the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Commission and the European Parliament refer to the totalitarian perceptions and toxicity of the extreme right” emphasized SYRIZA, highlighting the statement Kasselakis that he does not want the votes of far-right formations. “Does Mr. Mitsotakis dare to say the same? We challenge him…” they said meaningfully.

SYRIZA also launched an attack on PASOK and New Left for not commenting on the former minister’s statements. “Both PASOK and the New Left seem to have spent so much energy dealing with SYRIZA that they didn’t have the courage to comment on the government MP. Or they may simply have once again tried to protect their ally, as genuine crutches,” they said in a particularly harsh statement.

It is obvious that as the elections approach, SYRIZA will aim its fire in all directions, because the first bet it must win in order to be able to threaten the ND, is to establish itself as the main pole of the center-left. Besides, the attacks by the parties of the progressive space towards Koumoundourou are almost daily.

Yesterday, the officers of the official opposition spoke of an attempt to revive the “anti-SYRIZA” front with the participation of both the ND, PASOK and the New Left.

“Maximos has realized that Stefanos Kasselakis is de facto an opponent of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, so we will see a lot” they commented meaningfully, putting themselves on… increased readiness.

The tour continues in the Aegean

Yesterday Stefanos Kasselakis visited Kalymnos, Leros, Leipsos, Arkios, Ikaria and Patmos. The president of SYRIZA spoke with residents and listened to their anxieties and concerns, while he developed the party’s positions in support of insularity.

In Lipsi, a father’s appeal about the lack of teachers in the island’s school was touching. “The only thing that the children of the island have to make their dreams come true is the school”, he told him characteristically.

In Arkios, the residents informed him that they lack the permanent presence of a doctor. The issue of Health in critical areas has been brought up many times by Stefanos Kasselakis, recalling the SYRIZA amendment to give privileges to health workers to serve on the islands, which the ND rejected.

Today, Stefanos Kasselakis, always with Evangelos Apostolakis and his close partner, Babis Papadakis, will visit Fournos, Agathonisi, Samos, Chios and Psara.

The naval tour – the schedule of which was not followed to the letter due to the adverse weather conditions in the Aegean in the previous days – will end on Holy Monday.
