The investigations of the Security in the wider area of Eordaia are in full progress, in order to identify the “collector” of a ring of fraudsters who received 20,000 euros from an elderly woman who threw them to him from the balcony of her house in Ptolemais.
A man who works in a shop next to the griula’s house saw her throw the bag to a stranger on Thursday morning and immediately understood what had happened. When the “collector” left, he asked the old woman and she confirmed to him that she had received a call from a “doctor”, who told her that her son needs a large amount of money because he needs to be operated immediately.
The employee notified the Police giving the description of the accomplice of the ring who received the bag with the money of the elderly woman and the police are examining visual material from cameras in the area hoping to reach his identification.
He fell victim to a “monkey” ad
An order was placed online to buy A4 paper adhesives at a favorable price by a professional from Patras who spotted the ad for their sale and contacted the alleged seller, but never received them even though he paid electronically for their value of 2,500 euro. The victim filed a complaint with the Patras Police who are investigating to identify the perpetrator and filed a case for fraud against an unknown person.
