They miraculously escaped the worst, the driver of the car in Larissa reported to Live News, who says he heard a loud bang and suddenly saw two children lying on the road to his right.
“I lost 20 years of my life at that time. I mean, I’m also a father and I can’t describe it,” said the car driver.
Midday on Wednesday in one of the most central streets of Larissa, the driver of the car enters the junction to take the next exit when a skateboard comes from the right.
“I stopped as I was coming to enter the roundabout and finding the gap to my left, as the flow of the junction goes, I entered. I was inside the roundabout and my roller skate popped from the right. The lad fell on me. Thank God, he’s fine,” added the driver.
The two minors who were on the skateboard collided with the car, while the driver of the car was looking the other way.
“They found it in the front, on the hood. I didn’t have time to turn my head to the right, my mind was left,” he said.
The driver got out of the car in fear with his wife and they ran to see if the two children were okay.
“Until I got out of the car and went back to see what happened, that’s when I needed them. The children were conscious. The wife and I helped them, they got up and went to the sidewalk. The ambulance also came very quickly, and the Immediate Action arrived straight away. The kids were down right down here. One of the little girls was just dizzy, the other boy was hit a little on the head, his nose was opened,” said the car driver.
The children were taken to the hospital with bruises and fractures. The terrified car driver contacted the children’s parents apologizing for the accident.
“The children are fine, I contacted the boy’s mother. They thanked me for staying with the kids the whole time, I was on top of them all the time. I say: “Children be good. Your children and your eyes” because I am also a father. How from one moment to the next he can close your house for fun,” said the car driver.
Fortunately, the two children escaped with minor injuries, but the longing that everyone got was incalculable.
“I don’t know if he’s ever skated before”
The mother of the 17-year-old who was riding the skate spoke to Live News. As she said, apart from some bumps, the two minors are in good health.
“Unfortunate moment they were at that point. I won’t sit down to analyze who is to blame. He took me from the gentleman on the phone, the driver. He tells me “Mom, I’m fine. Do not worry”. I say, where are you my boy let me come and get you. I am, he says, with a classmate of mine. The skate was not theirs, it was from the girl’s friend who was being driven by the girl and then they went to the hospital to do the standard tests.”
“My son doesn’t have a skate, nor would we ever get one, and I don’t know if the little girl had ever ridden before. He has a small fracture on his forehead, his forehead was very swollen, he also hit his cheek. He still has some sores on his knees. The little girl has a bump on her head. Since the children are fine and we haven’t experienced the worst.”
An eyewitness reported to MEGA that he saw the two children lying on the asphalt, while emphasizing that he did not see them wearing helmets.
