Municipality of Thessaloniki: Next to the financially weak citizens ahead of Easter

Details of the actions that will take place in the city.

The Municipality of Thessaloniki, in view of Easter, is helping our economically weak fellow citizens by taking actions aimed at strengthening the festive table of their families.

Specifically:

Food will be distributed in collaboration with the Municipal Communities, to residents of the Municipal Communities and the Municipal Unit of Triandria and in detail:

• For the 1st, 3rd, 4th Municipal Community on Holy Tuesday, April 30, 2024
• For the 5th Municipal Community and for the Municipal Unit of Triandria
on Holy Wednesday, May 1, 2024
• For the 2nd Municipal Community, the distribution will take place from the premises of the Directorate of Social Protection and Public Health (Monastiriou 53-55 5th Floor), on Holy Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
There is also provision for strengthening the festive table of the families who are beneficiaries of the “Social Grocery, Subsidy Provision of the Municipality of Thessaloniki” Structure, namely:
• Packages will be distributed at the Social Grocery of the Municipality of Thessaloniki for the month of April, which will take place on April 30 and May 1, 2, 2024, for the 370 families who are beneficiaries of the program.
• Stipend distribution will take place at the six stipend distribution points of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, on April 30 and May 1, 2, 2024 and packages, for the 300 beneficiary families of the Stipend Provision Structure, in addition to the daily stipend they receive.
• With the help of the “LIDL HELLAS” Company, a celebratory packed lunch will be distributed on Great Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 12:30 p.m., from the 6 ration distribution points, to the 750 beneficiaries of the rations.
For the particularly vulnerable group of homeless people in our city who are beneficiaries of the Homelessness Structures of the Municipality of Thessaloniki (Homeless Dormitory and Open Homeless Day Center), socialization and support actions will be carried out, specifically:
• On Easter Sunday, May 5, 2024, 195 portions of celebratory packed meals will be distributed to the beneficiaries of the Homeless Structures of the Municipality of Thessaloniki (Homeless Dormitory and Open Homeless Day Center).
• On Easter Monday, May 6, 2024, 120 portions of a celebratory packed lunch will be distributed to the beneficiaries of the Homeless Structures of the Municipality of Thessaloniki (Homeless Dormitory and Homeless Open Day Center).
• On Easter Tuesday, May 7, 2024, 195 portions of packed lunches will be distributed to the beneficiaries of the Homeless Structures of the Municipality of Thessaloniki (Homeless Dormitory and Homeless Open Day Center).
• On St. Thomas’ Sunday, May 12, 2024, 120 portions of a celebratory takeaway meal will be distributed to the beneficiaries of the Homeless Buildings of the Municipality of Thessaloniki (Homeless Shelter and Open Homeless Day Center).
