In Zavitsa of coastal Kynouria, last Sunday SAOO set out (pics)

On Sunday, April 21, 2024, 30 climbers of the Association of Arkadon Environmental Climbers [ΣΑΟΟ] had the opportunity to climb a beautiful mountain in coastal Kynouria, Zavitsa.

Starting from the picturesque Xiropigado, we first walked through an olive grove and then took the path, which a few days before we had cleared and marked. Going uphill we reached Ano Makreika and the settlement of Karamadzianeika, with the sea on our left. From there, a small group, passing through Agios Panteleimons and Agios Konstantinos, ended up in Kato Verbaina, after 5.30 hours of marching.

The largest group continued their march towards the top of Prophet Ilias [977 μ.]. From the top we saw, among others, Mainalo, Artemisio and Ktenia. Throughout the route, the unobstructed, panoramic view of the Argolic gulf compensated us with the parapino. Nafplio, Spetses and the opposite coasts of Argolis offered impressive images. We descended towards Agios Panteleimons and Agios Konstantinos, with the final destination being Paliochanos [Μπαταρόλα]. The most daring “erased” their fatigue with a dip in the cool waters of the sea. Maybe it was necessary after eight hours of march!!

Lunch followed at Paralio Astros.
