Working visit of the Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism Development to the Patras Port Organization

The Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism Development paid a working visit to the Patras Port Organization on Wednesday, April 24, 2024Panagiotis Sakellaropouloswhere he had a meeting with the CEO of the Organization, Panagiotis Anastasopoulos.

In the light of the already existing cordial cooperation, views were exchanged on the creation of important synergies, while both sides agreed that tourism development can be achieved through the joining of forces and the collective effort of all involved agencies.

In addition, Mr. Sakellaropoulos informed the CEO of OLPA about the intention of the Region of Western Greece to operate the Tourist Information Office at the Passenger Station of the South Port of Patras, having a modern digital audio-visual material and a rich promotional form, through which the the visitor will obtain useful information about the sights and points of interest of the three Regional Units of Aitoloakarnania, Achaia and Ilia. Mr. Anastasopoulos expressed his particular satisfaction for this action of the Regional Authority and stated that the Organization will be helpful in the successful operation of the Office.

As characteristically stated by Mr. Sakellaropoulos “The constant pursuit of the current Regional Authority is to contribute decisively to shaping the tourist experience. To achieve this we have focused through various actions on tourism promotion, infrastructure, the participation of professionals directly and indirectly involved in the tourism ecosystem and sustainable practices that can create a welcoming environment that benefits both visitors and residents. This rationale also includes the operation of the Tourist Information Offices at Araxos Airport and the Port of Patras, which will serve and facilitate visitors during the first moments of their stay in our country.”

The Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism Development was accompanied to the Patras Port Organization by the Head of the Directorate of Education, Culture, Sports, Tourism and Employment PDE, Dr. Lavrentios Vasiliadis and the Vicky Karapanou, executive of the Tourism Strategy Planning Department of PDE.
