I would like to be able to serve as prime minister for two terms

An in-depth interview with Antonis Schroiter and “Autopsy”, granted on Thursday night, the Stefanos Kasselakis. Mr. Kasselakis emphasized that if there is a mutation in SYRIZA, it is structural and organizational, for the upcoming European elections he stated that “the goal is to be first in the European elections” he added that society is “boiling”. He noted that Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ phrase about an imported leader teased the diaspora and argued that SYRIZA’s European ballot paper is much better than that of ND.

“From working hard in the private sector I went to working hard for SYRIZA. I am proud of our European ballot paper. We have three disabled people with their sword. The same for LGBTI candidates and for women. SYRIZA appeared to bring diversity to the European ballot as well. The main thing is what the Greeks will gain from the process of the European elections. Accountability to the citizen is a very important thing. There are incisions that can be made. The main thing is the Europe that we want to be a Green and social Europe” emphasized Stefanos Kasselakis and added referring to the decision to remove Dimitris Papanotas from the SYRIZA ballot papers:

“I made a decision based on what I heard, which was completely consistent with my principles. Mr. Mitsotakis keeps on the European ballot a singer of the Golden Dawn and someone who doesn’t know what pronoun to address me by.” Regarding the phrase of Dimitris Papanotas – who was expelled from the SYRIZA European ballot – who had declared that he “does it for some beer, but not for a leader”, Mr. Kasselakis replied: “I am both. And a leader for beers as well.”

The president of SYRIZA did not avoid answering about his predecessor, Alexis Tsipras: “The suspension of Alexis Tsipras during the SYRIZA conference was a surprise and hurt me, but since then there has been a renewal in the party, which was necessary. I believe that he will support the European ballot and he also made his mark with his presence at the presentation of the SYRIZA candidates for the European elections. We spoke a few days after the Conference. We’ve always had a great relationship. We were sitting next to each other at the presentation of the SYRIZA European ballot and we were thankful. He said to me, “Where did you find this talent?”

Regarding his “where did you come from”, he said that before the European elections will present his assets, defending his business activity, which he said he started from scratch while revealing: “I’m still taking lessons to improve my Greek. I’m proud that I haven’t made any blunders that offend people. I would like to be able to serve as prime minister for two terms. To complete a major reform program and as a government to unite Greece, decentralize and solve the huge demographic problem”.

Referring to his recent marriage with his partner Tyler Macbeth, he said: “I got married abroad because it was not certain that the same-sex marriage law would be passed in Greece. I would like to have children by the time we are 40.”

Regarding the much-discussed… miracle at his baptism, he noted: “I am religious, but that does not mean that as a politician I do not separate my personal belief with my deep respect for what someone else believes. There is a stereotype that SYRIZA is against tradition. SYRIZA is not against anyone. We do not demonize a part of the Greeks to promote another part of them. I did not say about a miracle in my birth. It’s not bad to believe in miracles, there are things we don’t know and can’t explain. I respect the majesty of God.”
