The President of KEDE Lazaros Kyrizoglou informed the members of KEDE that on May 14th the refugee case of 165 Municipalities of the country against the imposition of the burial fee will be heard at the CoE.

As characteristically stated by the President of KEDE and Mayor of Ampelokipi – Menemeni:

“On May 14, the appeal of 165 Municipalities to the Council of State against the imposition of the Burial Fee will be heard. I think that for the first time in history so many municipalities have appealed against a decision of the State. There would have been more Municipalities, but because the deadline for the right to appeal expired on February 10, several new Municipalities administrations did not make it.

KEDE not only on this bill but also on other bills that concern us, will cooperate with the government and give its opinions. Where he agrees he will state it and where he disagrees he will also state it. It will also be against any self-governing action or act that affects it”

What did he say about NOK?

The President of KEDE also referred to the New Building Regulation, saying: “Regarding the New Building Regulation and the related provisions, I will say the following: “The Municipalities who expressed interest in the provisions of the specific law are very rightly concerned, rightly interested they rightly appeal to the Supreme Court.

And the SC with its 2 decisions, 310 and 293 of the fifth section in 2024, decided that the Municipalities have a reason and competence”.
