Today, Cegeka, a global Information and Communication Technology (ICT) service provider group based in Belgium, announced the opening of its newest office in the “heart” of Athens, a development that consolidates the company’s presence in Greece and at the same time lays the foundations for the next phase of expansion: the establishment of a second Greek office, in Thessaloniki.

As stated in a related announcement, the new office – the official opening of which took place on Wednesday, in the presence of the Belgian Ambassador to Greece and the economic and commercial delegation of the Belgian Embassy – currently serves as the base for Global’s 50 employees Delivery Center of Cegeka, where aims to double its workforce to 100 by the end of the year.

“This strategic move to expand our customer service team in Greece was a targeted decision, based on the presence of skilled IT professionals, the common cultural references and entrepreneurial spirit that coexist in the country,” said Tom De Vos, Executive Vice President Global Delivery of Cegeka.

“The establishment of our own office underlines our commitment to Greece and our belief in its future. We look forward to further strengthening our partnership with the country’s talented human resources and aim to grow our team to 100 people by the end of the year, with ambition to create a Greek team of 300 IT experts, specializing in hybrid cloud, cyber security, digital workplace, observability, software engineering, etc., by 2026“, he added.

“There is a growing need to strengthen our capacity to assist our customers in their ongoing digital transformation,” said Stijn Bijnens, CEO of Cegeka. “We are confident that our expansion in Greece will provide Cegeka with greater flexibility and growth, allowing us to better serve our customers across Europe,” he added.

It is noted that Cegeka’s teams in Greece are part of the company’s Global Delivery Center – together with teams in Romania, Moldova, Colombia and India – from where customers are served.

Cegeka is an IT solutions provider, offering integrated solutions in the areas of Data, Applications and Infrastructure, which are closely related to each other. As part of the Cegeka Organization, Citymesh specializes in mobile device connectivity for the B2B market. Nexuzhealth develops customized solutions for the healthcare sector, while Cegeka Business Solutions is the main partner for Microsoft D365 solutions in Europe. Smartschool is Belgium’s digital education platform designed to support collaboration between schools, teachers, students and parents. In 2022, Cegeka employed more than 6,000 employees and achieved a consolidated turnover of EUR 871 million. With the recent acquisition of CTG in 2023, Cegeka expanded its reach and capabilities to become a global organization with more than 9,000 professionals and activity in 19 countries.
