I think everyone should think very carefully about whether we really want to have parties represented in the national Parliament that advocate brutal violence – at a time when we are all talking about the fight against violence – and an intolerant racist discourse, which only does is to spread division and sometimes hatred.
– I am also referring to SYRIZA because, you know, fascism and what it stands for cannot be fought with words alone. It has to be met with action and we were on the right side of history in this case.

Asked about the rise of the far right and whether it is to blame for pushing an “unsettling” agenda for this audience, the prime minister said:

On security issues and arrests for fan violence, he said it was difficult to comment on an ongoing judicial investigation.
