The former MP, Theodora Megaloikonomou, issued a statement through her lawyer, Ilias Sideris, informing about the incident that had happened between her and a person in the cafeteria of the Parliament.

Caused publications about incidents that had happened from time to time inside the Parliament.

The announcement states: “On the occasion of the incident that took place inside the Greek Parliament and a sitting Member of Parliament was arrested on the charge of assault against a member of the Greek Parliament, many media outlets are doing a “historical journalistic review” of all the incidents of violence that have taken place in the Greek Parliament.

In all the press posts, reference is made to an incident that took place in the cafeteria of the Parliament, years ago between me and a person who called himself my colleague.

The case of my dispute with my alleged ex-partner was brought to regular justice and the results so far are as follows:

– A lawsuit filed by my opponent against me for insulting the parliament.

– A lawsuit by my opponent against me for personal injury, went to trial and I was acquitted by plea of acquittal.

-A lawsuit by my opponent against me and against a former Minister, has been put on file by will.

-A lawsuit against him for defamation was tried and the defendant was found guilty.

– A lawsuit by me against the defendant for defamation and perjury is still pending.

All my civil claims against my opponent remain active.

As it becomes clear and based on court decisions: The incident that my opponent invokes and is treated as a fact by the media, is false and according to an IRREVOCABLE decision, the events he invokes never took place.

Therefore, I call on all the media, which in the last few hours have been reproducing past reports, to withdraw the posts and references in my name, since my personality is affected. I call on them to withdraw them within 24 hours, post this press release and accept that they acted in violation of journalistic ethics, since no one contacted me to be informed of the development of the case or to receive my statement.

And I declare that in the opposite case, I have already instructed the Athens lawyer Ilias G. Sideris, as he appeals to the Greek justice system, which so far, as far as my person is concerned, has fully and completely vindicated me”.
