With the information of the mayor of Larissa, Thanasis Mamakouregarding issues concerning the municipality, such as the amendments to the fines for arbitrariness, the licensing of daycare centers, but also the non-payment of municipal fees by electricity providers, tonight’s meeting of the Larisa Municipal Council began, with the mayor noting the reaction of KEDE on the issue of arbitrary.
“With the amendments, the municipalities, which previously received 25% of the fines, will receive a very small percentage from the Green Fund, through an outflow account”, commented Mr. Mamakos, making it known at the same time that an issue also arises with the licensing of daycare centers, as well as delays in the payment of municipal fees by electricity providers.
“An extension was requested until 31/12/2024, there is an ongoing tender process for 12 childcare centers of the municipality”, said Mr. Mamakos, while regarding the return of municipal fees, he made it known that the Municipality of Larissa is proceeding with out-of-court proceedings, possibly lawsuits, as the non-payment of municipal fees constitutes embezzlement.
“The reaction of KEDE is in the right direction, while with regard to the kindergartens in the municipality there are quite good infrastructures, however we will face problems”, said the head of “Samparataxis”, Dimitris Deligiannis.
“All this does not fall from the sky, it is due to the chronic underfunding of the municipalities. There are political responsibilities and we need to confront them”emphasized the head of LASY, Petros Krikis.
