Panagiota Sereti, nee Frantzola, passed away on Wednesday, April 24 at the age of 88, an educator who was found in Patras at a young age and became particularly well-known for her career in primary education, with the establishment, construction and service for 30 years, until her retirement, of the Kindergarten of Aroi.
Panagiota, also known as ‘Nota’, was born in 1936 in Feneos in mountainous Corinthia and grew up in a large family. He left for studies in Athens and was initially placed in Desfina, a traditional town at the foot of Kirfi in the Municipality of Delphi. During her retirement, the municipality, of the mountain town at the time, had invited her and honored her personally 20 years ago. He was then transferred to Akrata.
She moved to Patras in 1961 and was assigned to the Aroi Kindergarten while she married the late policeman Andreas Seretis.
Together they had two daughters, Eugenia, elder of priest Fr. Vassiliou Patsou who serves in the church of Agia Sophia in Patras and Nektaria, wife of fellow journalist Panagiotis Sakellaropoulos.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 26 at 3:00 p.m. from the Church of Sts. Konstantinou and Eleni Aroi and burial will take place in the village of Borsi in the municipality of Pinios Ilia, in the area of the dam.
