“I wish I could move mountains,” he says of his father’s death

--

“I don’t know where I am, I have no strength to speak, to walk. I think of my child, my wife, my mother. You can’t die either. Life will go on but the pain will remain. I had never had my heart broken in two, I experienced it today,” said Yannis Kallianos, among others, about the death of his father, to LiveNews.

Giannis Kallianos insists that his man was lost because certain doctors at the hospital did not send him to an intensive care unit in time.

“A certain man, director of the vascular surgery unit at the Attica hospital, estimated that he is fine, with perfect examinations. They almost presented his tests as baby tests… I too waited for him to leave the hospital until the first shortness of breath started and my brother from Cyprus also came, he is a cardiologist and has saved thousands of people.

He knew exactly his problems. He fell at everyone’s feet and told them that my father will not survive if he does not enter an intensive care unit,” described Yannis Kallianos.

If they had listened to my brother, my father would be here, beside me

“It was not the problems of the health system. The problem was that three specific people said that my father is fine and does not need to be admitted to the ICU or the ICU. If they had listened to my brother, at this moment my father would be here next to the car and we would be going for a regular walk” emphasized Yiannis Kallianos, saying that he is going to seek his right legally.

“I have all the messages in my hands. All this will be submitted to Mr. Kuya who will take over the case so that the people who took my father’s life will be brought to justice. I will move hard legally, aggressively legal… “Attikon” now said that he (the patient) had many problems. Then why were they telling us that his exams are good” asked Yiannis Kallianos.

For the EDE ordered for the case

“The EDE was ordered by the commander. The commander will be a jerk if he doesn’t protect, if he doesn’t become a ghetto and everyone protects each other. I hope the sons, children of every commander and deputy commander never live the image I saw in my father. I bent down, kissed him, he was short of breath…”.

My life was cut in two. They’re not dudes who don’t cry. I did everything to honor my father. The evidence is incontrovertible. They made another mistake. They took my father’s information and that’s a felony. I will not bring my father back. I wish I could move mountains. I did everything. But I apologize if I could not do something more, to convince the doctors to save my father” concluded Yiannis Kallianos in LiveNews.

“All protocols have been followed”

Adonis Georgiadis, Minister of Health, spoke to Live News about the situation in public hospitals, but also about the EDE that is ongoing at Attikon hospital after the death of the father of ND MP and meteorologist Yannis Kallianos.

A Sworn Administrative Examination into the hospitalization conditions of the father of Yiannis Kallianos was ordered by the management of the hospital, “Attikon”, as stated in the announcement announcing the death of the patient.

“I do not enter into matters of a medical nature, I am a minister, not a doctor. The responsibilities of the minister and the government are whether there were: an intensive care unit available – which there was – doctors, nurses and medicines. As to the substance of the case, an inquest was indeed ordered after the death of Mr. Kallianos, so that all the facts can be recorded under oath and it can be judicially checked whether the prescribed procedure has been followed. The image I have is that all protocols have been followed in the case of Mr. Kallianos.”

“The entire health sector has rapidly deteriorated”

Research published by the Panhellenic Medical Association shows that within a year, citizens’ complaints about ESY benefits have doubled. “In the same survey, the situation has also worsened in private hospitals, not only in the NHS. The entire Health sector has rapidly deteriorated. I interpret it as an automatic return to the usual image of the health system after the pandemic”, explained Adonis Georgiadis.

Referring to the statements of his brother Yiannis Kallianos, the Minister of Health said: “He spoke somewhat disparagingly about the doctors in Greece. You will allow me to say that this is not true, Greece has good doctors. The NHS has good doctors and the Attikon hospital is one of the best we have.”

“The first issue at the Council of Ministers in the European Union was the lack of medical and nursing staff in the EU. and indeed the Commission emphasized how we will find doctors and nurses in the EU. It’s not just Greece’s problem,” the health minister concluded.
