Western Macedonia: The Municipalities of Eordaia and Grevena were selected to provide technical assistance to tackle energy poverty

Fifty-one Municipalities in Europe, among them the Municipalities of Eordaia and Grevena, together with the Bioeconomy and Environment Cluster of the Municipality of Macedonia, were selected to receive technical assistance, on recording and addressing energy poverty through the development of actions and expert support .

According to information from the Municipality of Eordaia, the choice was made following an application in the second call of the Consultative Hub for Energy Poverty, while the possibility of utilizing technical assistance was launched by the Consultative World, a leading EU initiative managed by the European Commission at the request of European Parliament. The provision of technical assistance serves the goal of high quality personalized support to Municipalities to tackle Energy Poverty.

The Municipality of Eordaia has already started cooperation with the Consultative Hub for Energy Poverty and the experts from INZEV AMKE by drawing up a plan that describes the activities for the diagnosis of Energy Poverty in the Municipality and the results, which will be obtained through a Questionnaire, will contribute to the more effective implementation actions for groups affected by energy poverty.
