Surprise visit in Athens I am informed that on May 12 the Edi Rama in the middle of the pre-election period for the European elections and in the shadow of his case Freddy Belleri which has frozen Greek-Albanian relations. Not coincidentally, we are talking about a visit of an internal nature, during which, according to information, he will have contacts with the Albanian community and will not have any official meeting with Greek officials. After all, it is not the first time that the Albanian prime minister has made such a visit to Athens.

I note, of course, that completely coincidentally (I want to believe…) on those days it will be one year since his pre-trial detention Beleriwhich will fight for the cross in the Greek Euro elections through prisons…

I won’t lie to you: I really enjoyed what he did Stefanos Kasselakis on Instagram with videos of him answering questions from his friends. Who told us what music he listens to (Silver, Dallara and Kraunaki), why he doesn’t get cold in short sleeves, how he would spend an ideal Saturday night, what food he likes to cook (veal in the gut) and whether he will invite the Prime Minister to his wedding (no, he won’t). All this was nice, with Folegandros in the background and a cat as a guest star.

By Kostas Mitropoulos

Why did he want to go and give an interview (on ERT) and mess with numbers and other such boring things? Because when asked about public health, wanting to blast the government for not spending enough on it, he almost suggested… a reduction in related spending. He said, specifically, that public investment in health “must be at least 5% of GDP.” And he went on to say “I wish health spending was 7% and 8% and that would create decentralized growth. That’s the main thing.”

Naturally, therefore, the above formulation met with reactions. Both from the right and from the left. Since the 5% of GDP, which he defined as a minimum, is too low and the expenditure on public health in Greece today is at 5.8%. So what did he do? Kasselakis; You used to. He denounced the “distortion” of his statements. “While I committed myself to full staffing of the National Health Service and to an increase in spending on the islands”, the SYRIZA president explained later, “I said that we must invest at least 5% of the GDP for health, and that means 5% more than the percentage that is scheduled today. I’m talking specifically about investment, not maintaining the current rate.”

THE Adonis Georgiades he was not convinced, however. “To correct his morning blunder, which he made due to obvious ignorance, he is now committing a bigger blunder” commented the Minister of Health, saying that in absolute numbers the Kasselakis he is asking for an additional 11 billion and “now he has to tell us where he will find it, because even the tripling of the ENFIA or the Income Tax or the increase of the VAT to higher levels than it was before Tsiprasthey don’t accumulate such a large amount.”

You cannot say, however, that we are going to elections with an amazing atmosphere, with slaps in churches and punches in Parliament. They also informed me that we almost experienced similar dramas at a General Assembly of the National Union of Agricultural Cooperatives, to which representatives of the parties and the Lefteris Avgenakis, in order to discuss agricultural subsidies, the new CAP and other hot topics in the sector. So, when the minister was on the podium, in a fiery revulsion of his speech, he turned to the opposition MPs who were below and asked “who are you working for?”, accusing them of “not turning their backs” while he was speaking for “robes”.

The PASOK MP did not take this last one very well Manolis Chnaris. Who got up irritably, shouting ‘the same again, Eugenakis?” and returning the designation to him, while o Eugenakis he was saying “sit down, we know you”. My witness even assured me that if other bystanders had not calmed them down, the scene would have continued.
